Boonsong asset seizures to start | Bangkok Post: news


(Bangkok Post file photo)The Commerce Ministry will start the ball rolling with asset seizures from those allegedly involved in government-to-government rice sales during the Yingluck Shinawatra government. On Saturday, authorities held a briefing at the Commerce Ministry to announce their next move. Mr Boonsong told reporters on Saturday he had yet to decide whether to appeal the court's ruling or to wait until the ministry started seizing his assets. Ms Yingluck, as well as Mr Boonsong and the other defendants in the G-to-G rice sale case, was criminally charged. He reasoned the Commerce Ministry lacked the manpower and expertise to do so and letting the Justice Ministry help would speed up the cases.
